Our tipis are made with the best quality treated 12oz. per square yard army duck , with its flame resistant qualities meeting the flammability standards . Flame resistant fabric is one of the most asked for features on our tents. In addition to being flame resistant, it is also treated for water repellency and mildew resistance. This fabric makes an excellent choice where a durable and flame resistant material is important.
The tipi is sewn with double stitching and areas of stress are reinforced. The door has an adjustable opening for easy entry.
The tipi liner is an interior layer of canvas sewn to
follow the contour of the bottom 5 - 6ft. It hangs from
a rope strung from pole to pole. The bottom 6 inches
may be left on the ground to keep out cold winds and
small creatures.
It provides insulation, and helps to create the upward
air flow that draws smoke from the fire through the
smoke hole.
The liner is optional, but strongly advised if the tipi
is going to be used in the winter. In summer the cover
can also be rolled up at the sides allowing the sun
to shine in and give a panoramic view of nature.
The liner also acts as a privacy curtain at night when
silhouettes of people are created by the fire inside
the lodge. The liner prevents others from seeing what
is going on inside the lodge.
